Brexit conference: Impact on transport and logistic industry

On 2nd of February 2018 in Warsaw the Association of International Road Transport Carriers in Poland (ZMPD) organized an international conference on consequences of Brexit for the road transport industry.


The conference was attended by many representative from the Polish and European Parliaments, colleagues from road transport  associations: FNTR, UNTRR, RHA, FTA, TLN, officials from the British Embassy in Poland as well as from offices in London: Transport Department, Department for Exiting EU, HMRC Border Coordination. The conference was organized under patronage of the Polish Minister of Infrastructure – Mr. Andrzej Adamczyk. The IRU took an active part in the event.

The discussion was dedicated to two issues – main fears and concerns of the transport industry, the possible scenarios and solutions. The general idea of the seminar was to raise the awareness of politicians and decision makers of the impact the Brexit will certainly have on the international transport and to present to our negotiators our expectations and pragmatic solutions.

All participants acknowledged this event as effective and necessary, the issue of Brexit unites the European transport industry nowadays. In a wider perspective business must go on, we need to put aside current disagreements and work on good solutions.
